Join Us in Serving Our Community and following Christ’s commands to make a positive

Recently at our very first public events, we went to a community Farmer’s market in St. Gabriel, Louisiana, where we set up a tent and gave away shirts.

Now these shirts weren’t your ordinary grab from your local store shirts. No, these shirts were hand pressed with biblical words of encouragement or scripture.

You see, we had a purpose: spread God’s message to others and help them be disciples.

Now, you and I both know that if I would have stood in a public mall or arena and started telling others about God and quoting scripture, I would likely be looked at like I was crazy, criticized or even worse.

But God had a plan and I was committed.

Put my message on shirts. Give them away for free. You are spreading my news and (hehehe) anyone wearing the shirts will be doing the same.

IT WAS A HIT! Over 115 shirts given away. That means 115 people will be sharing God’s message. How about that for a quick way to round up disciples? lol

Now, you might be asking yourself what does this have to do with the name, “Keep Faith?” Well, I’m long winded and am getting to it, but first I wanted to share this story.

You see, during this event a patron asked me the question, “What’s behind the name?” At the time, I shrugged at him with a smile and simply said, “Nothing. We are just trying to spread God’s message.”

Well, this answer was not completely the truth. (I hope by some chance the gentlemen finds this story and gets the real answer.) One of the reasons I did not answer at the time was because in my discernment about doing this event, the only thing that I was to do for this event was to encourage people to take a shirt. No sales, no donations accepted, no directing to this website. Nothing about “us,” but rather everything about Him! The other reason was simply, I was nervous to give the answer about the meaning behind the name because it was very personal to me. I would be emotional and I wasn’t ready to share.

However, now is the time to share the full truth behind the name, but I warn you it will come with some back story.

For about the last seven years, my life has been changing and it is because of a conscience decision I made to change my relationship with Christ. (Shout out to Fr. Joshua Johnson and his love for Christ!) As a result, the life I live now is much better than I could have ever expected and definitely better than I desire! (I hope to be the same inspiration to others as Fr. Josh was to me.) If you are thinking about financial gain, then you are sadly mistaken.

I was broken and I have been healed.

I now walk in peace and comfort with my faith in Christ trusting and relying on him. I do what I call, “following God’s lead.” (You can read more about this in the Intro Story.) I digressed.

Getting back to the name…

Earlier this year, I encountered a week of tremendous physical and mental suffering. You see, I was just coming off of a prescription that I had been taking for over 15 years and the rebound from the medicine was torturous for me. It is something I hope to never experience again.

Through the days, I prayed and prayed for help, for relief, for guidance, for healing and then…I prayed for His presence to help me endure the suffering.

Have you ever prayed for something and received that blessing or answer to your prayer?

Have you ever prayed and not received the answer you wanted?

Did you lose faith? Did you stop praying? Did you Keep Faith?

Through this difficult trial, I kept faith. I knew He was with me and I knew there was a lesson to be learned. I knew that I would become better because of this trial. I would not let the devil win!

As usual, it was not about my timing, but about HIS.

This ministry’s mission is to serve others and to help those who are suffering physically, spiritually, mentally. This ministry is about keeping faith despite the circumstances. This ministry is about bringing hope and faith to others through our works and prayers. It’s about bringing people closer to Christ by allowing them to see Christ. It’s about being a disciple, a steward for Christ.

Our purpose is to help others Keep Faith in all circumstances.

It only seems fitting that the name of this ministry be called, Keep Faith.

Without faith we are nothing. Without works through our faith, we are nothing.

So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.”

JAMES 2:17

We invite you to join us in Keeping Faith.

May God bless you and keep you. May God be with you always. Remember, keep faith!
